How To Redirect non-www URL to www URL - Godaddy [SOLVED]

The goal of every website owner is to make their website reachable to the audience. The popular domain provider GoDaddy stands out from the crowd for its best service. That is why many website owners approach GoDaddy to get the best service for their website.

Still sometimes, because of technical problems, the website is unreachable even though we buy a domain name from GoDaddy. The most common issue that exists is that the website’s URL doesn’t work if we do not append www to it.

Let’s say if I own a domain example.com and when people search for https://example.com, my website is unreachable. But when people append www to the URL, it means when they search for https://www.example.com, then my website is reachable.

This problem persists because the search engine considers https://example.com and  https://www.example.com as two different domains.

To solve this problem, the redirection of the URL is necessary. By default, there are no such default settings for this. But we can solve this problem with a few simple steps. There may be various solutions for this issue, but I’ll suggest the most simplistic way, without the need to code anything.

Follow the steps below to add redirection to your website.

Step 1: Log into your respective GoDaddy account.

Step 2: After successful login, you will see the list of domains you own. Click on the Manage button as shown in the image below.

Step 3: After clicking the Manage button, a new page opens up displaying settings of the domain. Scroll down to the Additional Settings section and click the Manage DNS link.

Step 4: The Manage DNS link opens up a new page where you will find all the configurations of your domain. Navigate to the Forwarding section located on the page.
Set up the redirection by entering the URL appended with www (e.g., www.example.com). Check out the following image to set up redirection of URL.

Step 5: Click on the Save button. Now your website will redirect from the non-www URL to www URL.
Note: It might take an hour or more for this change to work.

I have used this solution, and it is working fine. Follow the steps given above if you are facing this issue.
