What is Codecademy?

Hey viewers ! Today I am gonna post about a online academy to learn coding for absolutely free of cost.

This is Codecademy. Codecademy is a merge of 2 words- Code & Academy. It is an e-learning platform where you get to learn more practically as compared to theory part.

After every theory section, you get an online compiler which prompts you to practice the theory section for better understanding.



Codecademy is classified into many divisions and sub-divisions. They are as follow:-

1. Web developer skills

• Learn to develop a website.
• Making an interactive website.
• Learn to build web apps with Ruby language.
• Embed authentication feature such as log in, log out in your existing Ruby web apps.
• Building web apps with AngularJS.
• Learn the command line to perform various tasks for manipulating data.
• Learning SQL to maintain database.
• Learn the popular language JAVA.
• Study GIT to create and surf GIT based projects.

2. Language skills

• HTML and CSS.
• Learn the language used on web:- Javascript.
• If you want to create animations on your website then go for jQuery.
• Get started with PHP(Personal Home Page).
• Study the mostly used language-Python.
• Ruby language.

3. Learn API

    Here, you will actually practice the codes which are used on many well known websites such as Youtube, Box, Evernote, Wepay, Github, twitter, etc.

Codecademy also provides a PRO plan which costs $19.99 per month which includes facilities to build your final project, interact with the advisors for any queries, can access periodic tests material.

But it's not necessary to get it. If you wish then you can buy or else can continue for free.

My personal experience:

I had accessed this platform and assure that you will surely like it. I am currently learning Python. Codecademy has made its each sessions equally focused on theory and practical knowledge. If you are not able to solve any puzzle, then don't worry, hints will be given to you. Currently, certificates are not available here. But you can share your profile with your friends, teachers or anyone.
