Hey folks! Recently I received a new update of WhatsApp on my
iPhone. Well it’s a nice one. Previously iOS users were only able to send
messages on WhatsApp only when there was an internet connection. But this
limitation is over come in new version.
Even if you are offline, you can still send your messages on
your iOS device. Whenever the system will detect a working internet connection,
messages will be queued up and be send to intended receiver.
Plus, you can now send up to 30 photos and videos from your iOS device at a time.
Now there is also an improvement in Storage feature. If Whatsapp is consuming a major part of your phone's memory then you can manage it via this new feature.
With this feature, you can analyze which chat is consuming more storage in terms of text, videos, GIF, documents, contact, voice messages and location. If a chat is consuming more storage because of videos then you can clear all the videos from that chat.
How to manage storage:
1. Go to Settings tab in Whatsapp -> Data and Storage Usage -> Storage Usage
2. Then analyse which chat is taking more storage and clear that data
In my case a certain group was consuming storage because of unwanted GIF, so I deleted all the GIF from that group.
After deleting GIF, its storage becomes 0 KB and thus memory increased to some extent.
So these were the main 3 features which are added in new version. I found it really very helpful. I can send more pictures at a time as compared to previous versions where you were only allowed to send maximum 10 images at a time.
The storage feature helps me in maintaining my phone's storage by deleting unwanted data from chats.
And even if there is no active internet connection, I can still queue up message from my side and will be send to recipients whenever my device establish an active internet connection.
